Jeffery Lee Lowther

Jeffery Lee Lowther, age 61, of the Peeltree Community, WV, died Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at his home. He was born September 20, 1963, in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Robert Grant and Vera Emma Clevenger Lowther.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry Joseph, Kenneth “Kenny” and Curtis Ray Lowther and one niece, Stephanie D. Cavin.

Surviving are four sisters, Patricia Sharp and husband Robert of Volga, WV, Peggy Payne and husband Zachary of Philippi, WV, Pamela Hussmann and husband Ricky of Lost Creek, WV and Penny Helton and husband Troy of Clarksburg, WV; five brothers, Wayne Lowther and wife Johnna “Cookie”, Robert “Gene” E. Lowther and wife Vicky, Stanley Lowther and wife Tammy all of Buckhannon, Earl Lowther and wife Rita of Volga and James “Jim” Lowther and Cindy of Broad Run, VA; four nieces; seven nephews; seven great nieces and four great nephews.

Jeff was a member of the Buckhannon Elks Lodge 1736 and was an avid fan of NASCAR, muscle cars, antique cars, WVU Football and Bluegrass music. He loved working as a farm hand with his lifelong friends, Stephen Ward and the whole Ward family, on their family farm. Jeff was a food lover, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved his cats dearly.

Friends will be received Monday, October 14, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 Noon at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 12 Noon Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in Zion’s Hill Cemetery in Hodgesville, WV.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society or Animal Control Center of your choosing.
