James Lewis Jones

James Lewis Jones, 88, of Buckhannon, and formerly of Rainelle, W.Va., died Monday, September 9, 2019. 

He was born August 26, 1931, in Fayette County, a son of the late Clyde and Lora Wright Jones.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers: Clyde, Roy, and John Jones, all of Buckhannon, and Robert Toney of Russellville, W.Va.; one sister Bernice Toney of Rainelle; one nephew Lowell Osborne of Rainelle; and a life-long friend Nellie Mae Ware of Buckhannon. 

He is survived by one niece, Edith Zimmerman of Rainelle.

Mr. Jones was a Korean War veteran of the 40th Infantry Division.  He was also a lumberman at Meadow River Lumber Company and Cooks Sawmill.  He cherished and shared many memories of his youth working on the family farm and a lifetime love for horses and his two dogs Lilly and Daisy Mae.

Friends will be received on Saturday, September 14, 2019, from 10-11 a.m., the funeral hour, at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel.  Interment will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park, where the Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
