Ila Reed, 86, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018 at her home.

She was born June 15, 1932, in Clarksburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Marie Ramsey Gill.

On Jan. 14, 1961, she married Carl “Dick” Reed who survives. Also surviving are one son, Charles “Chuck” Reed of Buckhannon; one grandson, Ian Carr of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Desiree Wright of Buckhannon; two great-granddaughters, Ashley and Payton Elizabeth McKenna both of Buckhannon; one sister-in-law, Pat Reed of Waldorf, Md. and two nephews, Jason and Ray Reed and families all of Md.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Carl R. Reed, Jr.; daughter, Susan Ann Wright; grandson, Randy Lee Brooks; brother, Herbert Thomas Gill; sister, Doneen Marie Gill; and brother-in-law, Raymond Reed.

Mrs. Reed was a protestant and a homemaker. Friends will be received Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edwards McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
