Hilda Ruth Tenney, age 85, of Faith Acres Drive, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born on April 1, 1938, in Braxton County, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Tenney; and two sons: Everett Mitchel and Michael Alan Tenney.
She is survived by her son Frank Tenney and wife Delores; two grandchildren: JP Tenney and wife Kristie, Ja´me and husband Brian Brandish; four great grandchildren: Julie and husband Logan Sheldon, Brandon Tenney and wife Erica, and Jared and Dylan Brandish; and four great-great grandchildren: Lazarus, Lillian, and Ezekiel Sheldon, and Evelynn Tenney.
Hilda was a member of the Indian Camp United Methodist Church. She was the former Upshur County Magistrate Court Clerk for 22 years before retiring in 2001.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Interment will follow in the Indian Camp Cemetery.
