Obituary Helen Sheppard 1

Helen Blair Sheppard, 92, of Scott Depot, W.Va., died Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Rolling Meadows Place in Scott Depot.

She was born March 16, 1927, in Boston, Mass., a daughter of the late Donald and Margaret Burett Gunn. On June 21, 1952, she married Dr.  David Winston Sheppard, who preceded her in death on June 4, 2006.

She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Sandy and husband John of Saint Albans, W.Va. and Cheryl Ann Sheppard of Akron, Ohio; one grandson, Jonathan Sandy of Cincinnati, Ohio and one granddaughter, Michelle Sandy of Saint Albans.

Mrs. Sheppard was a teacher. She was a member of the Red Hat Club, P.E.O. Sisterhood, Rainbow Girls and was very involved in the women’s groups at church in Buckhannon.

Friends will be received Monday, April 1, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
