Harold Martin Zickefoose

Harold Martin Zickefoose, age 78, of Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, July 22, 2023, at his home under the care of WVU Medicine Hospice.

He was born July 6, 1945, in Long Run, WV, a son of the late Elias Phillip and Icy Pearl Thomason Zickefoose. On March 20, 1965, he married Sabrina Jarell who preceded him in death on April 25, 2006. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gilbert Thomason and four sisters, Juanita Vandevender, Virginia Kyle, Mary Wilson and Deloris Madden.

He is survived by one son, Edward Zickefoose of Buckhannon; two brothers, Darrel Zickefoose and Carrol Zickefoose and wife Tiny all of North Ridgeville, OH; two sisters, Hilda Hanifan and husband Denver of Queens, WV and Betty Miller and husband Ralph of Buckhannon and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Mr. Zickefoose was a heavy equipment operator for General Motors. After retiring, he became a talented woodworker, building furniture and anything out of wood.

Friends will be received Sunday, July 30, 2023, from 5 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Miller and Pastor Greg Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Cave Cemetery in Rock Cave, WV.
