STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s golf team finished the West Liberty Invitational, a 54-hole event, on Tuesday (Sept. 27) at Steubenville Country Club. The Bobcats placed in 10th out of 12 competing teams.

Alexis Abalos completed play with a score of 233 over three rounds. Abalos shot a 77 in his first round and then two consecutive rounds of 78. Abalos sank 27 pars and seven birdies in the tournament.

Freshman Francisco Taboada fired 236 strokes in his three rounds at the event. After scoring above 80 in his first two rounds, Davis Haynes led the Bobcats on day three, scoring a 74. Rounding out the scoring for WVWC was Cole Price, who finished with 244, and Jacob Germania, who completed play with a 259.

The Bobcats will return to the links on Monday (Oct. 3) for the Mountain East Conference Championship at Avalon Lakes Golf Course in Warren, Ohio.
