Frank N. Floyd Sr.

Frank N. Floyd Sr. born in Cowen, WV, on December 6, 1932, and passed away on October 26, 2021, at Mountain Memories Assisted Living Center in Elkins, WV at the age of 88.

Frank was a self-made successful man starting with humble beginnings, working full-time jobs, and going to college at the same time where he graduated from Morris Harvey College (now University of Charleston) in Charleston, WV in 1956. On June 23, 1956, he married the love of his life Carrie Lou Green of Charleston, WV, who preceded him in death on December 27, 2010.

After graduating from college, he was an art teacher at Buckhannon-Upshur Junior High School. In 1962, he founded the Floyd Sign Co. in Buckhannon. Frank was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon since 1947 when his family made the move from Webster County to Buckhannon.

Frank is survived by two sons, Frank Jr and wife Karen of Buckhannon, and Robert and wife Jennifer of Buckhannon: five grandchildren, Jason Bennett and wife Jill of Bardstown, KY, Amy Floyd of Roanoke, VA, Aaron Floyd of Morgantown, WV, Matthew Floyd and wife Danielle of Morgantown, Elizabeth Floyd of Jane Lew, WV, and great-grandchildren Samantha and JJ Bennett of Bardstown.

Mr. Floyd will be cremated.

Friends will be received for a memorial gathering Friday, November 5, 2021, from 10 AM to 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM at the church with the Rev. Steve Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park.
