Forrest Charles Wilt Jr.

Forrest Charles Wilt, Jr., age 61, of Buckhannon, WV, died Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at his home.

He was born July 11, 1961, in Honolulu, HI, a son of the late Forrest Wilt, Sr., and Frances Ruth Harper Wilt. On August 9, 2008, he married Marissa Talbott who survives of Buckhannon. Also surviving one daughter, Jessie Wilt of Buckhannon; one son, Forrest Wilt, III of Cincinnati, OH; two step sons, Uriah Jernigan and wife Elizabeth of Nitro, WV and Bailey Jernigan of Charleston, WV; one granddaughter, Ryleigh Wilt of Cincinnati; four grandsons, Forrest Wilt, IV and Silas Wilt both of Cincinnati, Eli Jernigan of Parkersburg, WV and Jake Jernigan of Nitro, WV; one brother, Steven Wilt and wife Tammy of Florence, KY; one sister, Laura Hubbard and husband Mike of Colorado Springs, CO; several nieces and nephews; one sister-in-law, Noelle Kolb of Rivesville, WV and his beloved grand dogs, Chewy and Lilly.

Mr. Wilt served in the U.S. Air Force and was a master electrician. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and playing chess. He was a grandmaster chess champion in the State of WV. Also, he won a statewide electrician competition through Fred W. Eberle Technical Center. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family.

A graveside service will be held 2 PM Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton, WV with Pastor Michael Tallman officiating. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors at the gravesite. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
