Festival Fridays begin June 7 in Jawbone Park

BUCKHANNON, WV — Jawbone Park in downtown Buckhannon will once again serve as the venue for Create Buckhannon’s 2024 season of Festival Fridays starting this Friday, June 7, 2024, with the Carpenter Ants as the entertainment headliner.

Festival Fridays are organized by community volunteers who participate in Create Buckhannon. These gatherings, held every Friday during the summer months, are not produced or paid for by the city or the county. To support Create Buckhannon, consider buying a 50-50 ticket, a T-shirt or a hat.

Create Buckhannon’s weekly meetings, held over lunch, allow all community members to engage in an ongoing conversation. Members encourage everyone to work together to discover opportunities and find solutions that benefit the community. Their meetings are open and held on Thursdays at noon at The Opera House on Main Street.  Consider attending and volunteering to help with Festival Fridays or other Create Buckhannon activities.

One of the most treasured and community-driven projects is the Valor Banners, which proudly hang overhead in the pavilions at Jawbone Park. They are a testament to the community’s pride in those who have served.

The City of Buckhannon is a proud supporter of Create Buckhannon.
