Erica S. Hinkle Swiger

Our loving angel, Erica S. Hinkle Swiger, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 11, 2018 after a long courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born May 18, 1977 in Buckhannon, W.Va., a daughter of Wayne and Catherine “Cathy” Bickel Hinkle, who survive.

Also surviving, is the love of her life, her son, Dylan Swiger; two sisters, Julie Alston and husband Alex of Charleston, W.Va. and Christina Boyles and husband David of Elkins, W.Va.; maternal grandmother, Edna Nelle Bickel of Webster Springs, W.Va.; three nephews, Grayson Boyles of Elkins and Evan and Owen Alston of Charleston; one niece, Shanna Boyles of Elkins; three aunts, Shelia Cogar and husband Lonnie and Marsha Nutter and husband Skip all of Webster Springs and Sue Cutlip and husband Rick of Sutton; one uncle, Chuck Bickel and wife Teresa of Webster Springs and her beloved dog Emily Sue.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and Ina Gae Hinkle and Ronald Bickel; her aunt, Betty Anderson and her baby boy, Tristin, who she will join in heaven and be able to bounce on her knees once again, pain free.

Erica was a kind old soul that always put others needs before her own. Her world revolved around her family and son – Dylan, the light of her life.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and hospice caregivers who have cared for their angel over the past eight years.

Memorial contributions can be made to the WV MS Chapter at 1700 MacCorkle Ave SE Suite 141, Charleston, WV 25311. At Erica’s request a private family service will be held followed by interment at Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.

Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
