KERENS – With two weeks remaining of the regular racing season at Elkins Raceway, drivers put the pedal to the metal with their eyes on the upcoming 2022 Season Championship.

Saturday, August 13, racing fans poured onto the front stretch of the track during intermission for the second Elkins Raceway Autograph & Picture Night of the season. Fans were encouraged to take photos, collect autographs from drivers, and look inside each race car. Many drivers passed out autographed “hero” cards and other goodies for fans to take home with them. It was an exceptional night for the dirt track racing community in Randolph County.

The August 13 feature race winners are as follows:

  • Super Late Model – Shane Hitt
  • Crates – Brent Trimble
  • Modifieds – Phil Jeffries
  • Street Stock – Chris Smith
  • Hot Mods – Michael Simpson

Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 27 for the Fall 50 and end-of-season fireworks display. During regular intermission on August 27, vibrant fireworks will fill the air above the track, illuminating the faces of racing fans in the grandstands and the drivers in the pits. Celebrate the conclusion of another action-packed season with the drivers at Elkins Raceway, with a bang! There will be an increased payout in all classes – $3,000 for Super Late Model drivers, $1,200 for FASTRAK Crate Late Models and $1,100 for UMP Modifieds. Increased payouts for Street Stocks and EDGE Hot Mod drivers is to be announced soon via the Elkins Raceway Facebook page.
