Elda Marlene Bevans, 69, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, W.Va.

She was born January 13, 1950, in Jefferson, Pa., a daughter of the late Frederick Victor and Mary Sternum Shipley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Brian Bevans, Sr.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas “Buck” Bevans, Sr. of Buckhannon; one daughter, Shelly Claypoole and husband Denver of French Creek, W.Va.; three sons, Terry Shipley and wife Kimilee, Thomas Bevans, Jr. and fiancée Tammy Gordon and Kenneth Bevans, Sr. and wife Tina all of Buckhannon and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bevans was a personal care provider and a member of the New Life Tabernacle Church of Buckhannon and the Upshur-Lewis Humane Society. She was a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be truly missed by all who loved her.

Friends will be received Saturday, March 23, 2019, from 11 AM to noon at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, A funeral service will be held at noon with the Rev. Jerry Pentecost officiating. Burial will follow in the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton, W.Va.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
