E. Darrell Pringle

E. Darrell Pringle, 71, of French Creek, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born in Weston on April 11, 1950, a son of the late Wilbur Dee and Virginia Ruth Hyre Pringle. On March 11, 1972 he married Ruth Dean Pringle, who preceded him in death on July 4, 2017. In addition to his parents and wife, Darrell was preceded in death by three brothers: Roger Pringle, Ronald Pringle and Robert Casto; and two sisters: Hilda Sue Luckenbill and Mildred Booth.

Forever cherishing their memories of Darrell are two children: Coralee Meeks and husband, Russ, of Buckhannon, and Dustin Pringle and wife, Tara, of Rock Cave; five grandchildren: Zoe Squires and companion, Brandon Hellinger, Payden Pringle, Gavin Meeks, Carter Meeks, and Sawyer Meeks; two great-grandchildren: Karli and Troy Hellinger; and one sister, Norma Elmer of French Creek.

Darrell was a 1968 graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star. Darrell was a member of the French Creek United Methodist Church. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the coal mining industry and road construction and was one of the best dozer operators in the area. Darrell loved to hunt, fish, play horseshoes, and anything outdoors. He loved family gatherings, where he could spend time with all the people he loved.

Friends and family will gather for Visitation at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 12 to 2 p.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021. Funeral Services will begin at 2 p.m. in the Clutter Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richard Dean officiating. Interment will follow in the Beechtown Cemetery in French Creek, with the Upshur County Honor Guard providing full military honors. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Upshur County Honor Guard and mailed to: 104 Cohart Road, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
