Paula Gay Carver, 62, of Rock Cave, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital following an extended illness. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and extended family.

Kenneth Charles Booth, 85, of Buckhannon, WV, died February 10, 2026, at his home. He was a Southern States Co-Op supervisor and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

A West Virginia State Police trooper helped rescue an elderly woman and rushed a 10-month-old infant to EMS during a Kalafat Drive house fire in Buckhannon on Feb. 7. All eight occupants were safely evacuated, and the cause remains under investigation.
