BUCKHANNON — On October 12, 2023, Quilters at Heart Quilt Guild of Buckhannon held the drawing for their 2023 Charity Raffle Quilt.

The happy winner this year was Dr. Burt Abel of Abel Family Eyecare in Buckhannon. Quilt guild member Pam Brown sold Dr. Abel the winning ticket.

The guild raised $1,300 for the Mountain Cap Child Advocacy Center in Buckhannon. Elizabeth Esposito, Child Therapist at Mountain Cap CAC, attended the meeting to draw the winning ticket for quilt and to receive the check.

Once a year, Quilters at Heart makes a quilt to raffle to raise money for a local charity. A new quilt made by guild members is already in the works for 2024.
