Doris Jean Carr

Doris Jean Carr, 84, of Buckhannon, W.Va., went home to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.

She was born January 23, 1936, in Enterprise, W.Va., a daughter of the late Everett James and Geraldine Augustine Strait Davis. On January 28, 1956 she married Charles Madison Carr who preceded her in death on October 23, 1999.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one infant son, Rodney Joseph Carr (twin) and one brother, Bernard Isaac Davis.

She is survived by three daughters, Sheree Strickland of Buckhannon and husband Brett of Barbour County, W.Va., Renee Carr and husband Pat Ward of Buckhannon and Penny Parcell (twin) and husband Brian of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Whitney Higginbotham of Buckhannon and Cara and husband; one grandson, Ian Charles Carr of Buckhannon; four great-grandsons, Ethan and Kaden Garvin and Jaxzen Sage and Haven Reigh Carr all of Buckhannon and two great-granddaughters, including Aurora Moots of Buckhannon.

Mrs. Carr was a homemaker and a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church.

Friends will be received Monday, July 27, 2020 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Sand Run Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at noon at the church with the Rev. Donald Butcher and Pastor Greg Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery in Excelsior, W.Va.
