Deputies arrest 20-year-old after finding drugs, THC extract, weapons and $8,000 in cash

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on December 31, 2019 deputies with the Upshur County Sheriffs Office, along with officers from the Buckhannon Police Department, executed a narcotics search warrant on Three Lick Road in Buckhannon, according to a press release.

Upon execution of the search warrant, deputies located approximately 12.5 ounces of marijuana valued at approximately $2,500; a large amount of THC extract known as “shatter”; numerous digital scales and packaging materials; two handguns; and one AR-15 rifle.

Deputies also seized approximately $8,000 in cash.

Robert Thomas Quici, 20, of Buckhannon has been arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and THC oil, along with four counts of felony child neglect.

An investigation is still ongoing and additional charges are pending.

According to the criminal complaint in the Upshur County Magistrate Clerk’s Office filed by investigating officer Deputy Tyler Gordon with the sheriff’s department, Quici posted pictures and pricing information on social media.

Gordon writes that Quici and a juvenile brother allegedly posted images and video of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, along with pricing, on their respective Snapchat accounts.

The sheriff’s department urges parents to be aware of their children’s associations on social media applications such as Snapchat and lnstagram.
