Davis Health System Foundation’s Annual Golf Classic Raises More Than $54,500

ELKINS – The Davis Health System Foundation hosted their 17th Annual golf tournament to support Davis Health System Monday, September 11 at Pete Dye Golf Course in Bridgeport and raised more than $54,500 for patient care.

Eighty-four players came from across West Virginia and Ohio to play the course that is ranked one of America’s 100 Greatest by Golf Digest.

Funds raised by the golf tournament go to support patient needs that arise at Davis Health System, including upkeep of The Davis House that provides lodging to cancer patients and others in need; educational supplies like the new simulation mannequins purchased for Nurse Education; and the needs of the new Caring for Kids campaign kicking off this month.

Blue Ridge Risk Partners is the signature sponsor for the Golf Classic, underwriting major costs of the tournament. Hart Office Solutions covers the Awards Luncheon; Radiological Physicians Associates, Inc. (RPA) provide breakfast; Benefit Assistance Corporation sponsored the Refreshment Tents; Cvechko Insurance sponsored the Hole-in-One Contest; and Master Service Corporation sponsored the special contests prizes.

Other local businesses that contributed and participated included Northern Eagle, Inc., Davis Trust Company, CPS Solutions, Credit Management Company, JF Allen, RD Wilson & Sons, Bowles Rice, McKenzie-Riedel Wealth Management, Citizens Bank of West Virginia, Elkins Auto, LabCorp, Davis & Elkins, and Trinisys. Several DHS employees played and volunteered for the day.
