Davis & Elkins, DPMC Presenting Lessons and Carols

ELKINS – Davis & Elkins College Concert Choir and Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church will present Festival of Lessons and Carols, the annual gift of music and message of hope, at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 5 at the church. With the theme “The Song of Bethlehem,” the event is free and open to the public.

Davis & Elkins College President Chris A. Wood will provide a Christmas meditation, while DMPC Pastor the Rev. Dr. Peter Vial will give the offering and prayer and benediction.

The choir, under the direction of Liz Marshall-MacVean and accompanied by Donna Baroudi-Huffman, will perform “The Song of Bethlehem,” “Sing a Song,” “Glory to God in Highest” and “Come Adore the King.” Choir solo performances will be presented by Robert Fields, “O Magnum Mysterium”; and Megan Augustine, “Beautiful Name.”

Additional musical accompaniment will be presented by Josh Stump on guitar, Jacob Ortiz on drums, Seth Blake on bass and Fisher Goodwin on chimes. D&E senior Carson Crawford of Moorefield will serve as narrator.
