David Leon Barnett, 58, of Buckhannon, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Monday, March 1, 2021.

He was born in Sutton on July 8, 1962, a son of the late Lynn Norman and Ellen Ann Barnett Knight.

Left to carry on David’s memory are his six siblings: Debra Sours and husband, Clarence, of Killbuck, OH, Donna Carpenter and husband, Ralph, of Buckhannon, WV, John Barnett of Weston, WV, Jeff Tinnel and wife, Tina Michelle, of Jane Lew, WV, Sue Eddy and husband, Will, of Crawford, WV, William “Lee” Knight of Crawford, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

David attended Buckhannon-Upshur High School and was considered a jack-of-all-trades. He began working at an early age and his passion for the outdoors lead him employment with Asplundh Tree Services, SCT Cable and Tower of Fairmont doing fiber optics, Tree Preservation of Upshur County, and most recently for Fidler’s Tree Service of Rock Cave where he spent over 20 years before becoming disabled. He loved spending time fishing, camping, and horseback riding in the Wild and Wonderful mountains of West Virginia.

David’s request for cremation has been honored and there will be no services.

We, at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon, are honored and privileged to serve the family of David Leon Barnett. Online condolences may be expressed at www.ClutterFuneralHome.com.
