Cross Country Lady Bucs run third in opener at UHS

MORGANTOWN – Lydia Falkenstein ran to a third-place finish for the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc cross country team in their debut Tuesday in the University Warm-Up.

Falkenstein clocked a time of 19.24.3.

Teammate Samantha Shreve also placed in the top 10 finishing seventh with a time of 20:26.8.

The other Lady Bucs scoring were Mia Sappey running 13th (21:49.5), Miah Reger in 16th (22.53.9) and Brianna Dalton in 21st (23:44.9).

The other Lady Bucs running were Pressley Bowers in 37th (26.03.1), Kaydence Monti in 39th (26.42.7) and Malia Bowers in 46th (31:07.7).

Alexis Lamb of Doddridge County won the race with a time of 18:30.9 while Madeline Gump was second with a clocking of 19:06.7.

The Lady Bucs finished third overall with 49 points.

Morgantown won the team title with 36 points while University was second with 43 points. East Fairmont was fourth with 86 points.

Brooke, Clay Battelle, Doddridge County and Frankfort did not field complete teams.

The Lady Bucs will run again Saturday in Kingwood in the Preston Knight Night Relays.
