The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announced Tuesday that 1,656 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in the Mountain State. That’s an increase of 89 since the last report.
Locally, COVID-19 cases are active in Upshur (25), Barbour (17), Lewis (32), Randolph (22) and Webster (29) counties. In Upshur County, that’s a decrease of three active cases in the last 24 hours.
No additional deaths have been attributed to the disease, according to the DHHR.
“The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of July 27, 2021, there have been 3,104,392 total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 166,297 total cases and 2,936 deaths,” according to a press release.
The daily percent positive was 6.17%.
A total of 875,802 people have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in West Virginia, meaning they have received both doses of the vaccine, the DHHR said. That’s about 49% of the state.
