Community Sponsorships
My Buckhannon believes local nonprofits and community organizations deserve the same professional promotion local businesses get. That’s why we set aside part of our advertising inventory as free, in-kind sponsorships — the very same packages businesses purchase, donated to causes that make Upshur County better.
In exchange, we simply ask for media sponsor credit — a “Proud supporter” mention, our logo on your event materials, or a tag in your posts. You get real promotion; we get to show our support for the community we cover.
What we offer
Community Partner — free ($149/month value)
A year-round partnership for organizations doing ongoing work in the community. Includes a website ad, a community bulletin, and ad design with a monthly refresh available — everything in our Website package, plus design, donated.
Community Event Sponsorship — free ($359 value)
The free twin of our Event Promo package, for public community events. Includes a website ad, community bulletin and write-up, a professionally designed ad, a social media post and image, and a two-week boosted social campaign — with the ad spend on us.
Community Press Release Boost — free ($149 value)
Have an announcement that deserves a bigger audience? We’ll enhance your press release on our site — free for all readers, no in-story ads, featured in our daily newsletter — plus a social post, social image, and a one-week boosted social campaign, ad spend included.
Who qualifies
- Nonprofits and genuine community organizations serving the Buckhannon–Upshur area
- Events must be open to the public
- Sponsorship slots are limited so donated space never crowds out the community coverage itself — if a slot isn’t open right away, we’ll get you on the list
One important note: community sponsorships are promotion, not news. Our editorial coverage stays completely independent — being a sponsor (or not being one) never affects what we report.
How to ask
Tell us about your organization and what you have coming up — that’s it. Reach out through our contact page and mention “community sponsorship,” and we’ll take it from there.
