City of Buckhannon closed July 3-4 in observance of Independence Day

The City of Buckhannon will pause to observe Independence Day on Monday, July 3, and Tuesday, July 4, thus giving many of our hard-working city staff members an added day off to enjoy the long holiday weekend with their families and friends.

This means City Hall and the Transfer Station on Mud Lick Road will be CLOSED to the public on both Monday and Tuesday. We will run regularly scheduled curbside waste collection on Monday, but not on Tuesday, so if your normal waste collection day is Tuesday or later (next week only), please plan to set your garbage out a day late. The Curbside Recycling Pick-Up scheduled for Tuesday, July 4th, will not take place.

If you have a police or fire emergency, dial 9-1-1. Our public safety departments will be fully staffed 24-7 as always. The City of Buckhannon wishes you and your family a happy, safe, and healthy 4th of July! Have a great long weekend!
