Charles Edward Dawson

Charles Edward Dawson, age 79, of Lumberport, died on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the home of his daughter in Buckhannon.

He was born on September 9, 1944, a son of the late Harry E. Dawson and Virginia Martin Dawson. He was united in marriage to Janet L. Dawson, who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one son David Dawson.

He is survived by one daughter Nancy Wamsley and her husband Dion of Buckhannon.

Charles served nearly three years in the United States Navy and was in the reserves for many years following. He worked for Hope Natural Gas for more than 34 years. Charles liked old school country music and played the bass for fifty years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved telling jokes.

The body will be cremated.  Private services and inurnment will be held in the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown at a later date.
