Carolyn Sue Rice

Carolyn Sue Rice, 68, of Gaines, W.Va. passed away April 15, 2019, at her home. 

She was born July 10, 1950, in Gaines, a daughter of the late Pearlie and Helen Demastes. 

She was united in marriage on Jan. 29, 1972, to M. Wayne Rice, who preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2010. Also preceding her in death were three infant sisters; two brothers: Robert and Donald; sister-in law Lona; and two brothers-in-law: Gordon Gillespie and John Takats. 

She is survived by one daughter Meredith and husband Steve Chidester; one son Eric Rice and wife Angie; one grandson Theron Chidester; two granddaughters: Jarrett Chidester and Erika Rice; step granddaughter Brooklynne Riffle; brother Ira Demastes and wife Patty; three sisters: Kathryn and husband Harry Francis, Sharon and husband Dave deHuarte, and Judy and husband Hurlie Burnside; three sisters-in-law: Jean Demastes, Lillian Gillespie, and Mary Ann Takats; and many nieces and nephews. 

Mrs. Rice was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith.

According to her wishes, her body will be cremated and no services will be held.
