Buckhannon’s Alex Skinner wins big at Irish Road Bowling nationals

Buckhannon-Upshur High School went into a precautionary lockdown after a parent became upset over a custody issue. The lockdown ended around 12:30 p.m., and no arrests were made.

Patricia F. Riggs Strader, 97, of Buckhannon, WV, passed away on October 20 at her son’s home in Toccoa, GA. She was a devoted nurse, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

“Funny Money” runs Oct. 22-24 at Wesleyan, with 7:30 p.m. shows and a 2 p.m. Saturday matinee. Tickets are $10 or $5; high school students and their families attending the Oct. 24 admissions open house get in free.

Nearly 40 West Virginia lakes and streams will each get two trout stockings during the weeks of October 19 and 26, totaling about 40,000 pounds. A pink-tagged fish carries a lifetime fishing license prize.
