Buckhannon Splashers win 50 events against Fairmont Field Club

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon Swim Club Splashers won 50 events in dual outing with the Fairmont Field Club last week.

Team scores were not provided.

The girls won 28 events while the boys claimed 22 events.

For the girls, U8 winners were Tori Wilsoncroft in the 50-meter freestyle, the 25-meter backstroke and the 25-meter butterfly, Valarie Long in the 25-meter breaststroke and the foursome of Long, Hudsyn Orr, Augusta Richards and Wilsoncroft in the 100-meter free relay and the foursome of Orr, Richards, Long and Heidi Riffle in the 100-meter medley relay.

The 9-10 age group winners were Berkeley Jeran in the 50-meter freestyle, the 100-meter IM and the 25-meter butterfly, Lexcie Roy in the 25-meter breaststroke and the foursome of Naomi Hibbs, Roy, Jeran and Wilsoncroft in the 100-meter medley relay.

Picking up wins in the 11-12 age group were Aspen Manning in the 50-meter backstroke, Madison Cutright in the 50-meter breaststroke, Cora Cottrill in the 50-meter freestyle and the foursomes of Cutright, Izabella Gould, Kolbi Orr and Cottrill in the 200-meter freestyle relay and Manning, Cutright, Cottrill and Orr in the 200-meter medley relay.

In the 13-14 age group, getting wins were Rylee Yardley in the 200-meter freestyle, the 100-meter backstroke and the 50-meter freestyle, Karson Karickhoff in the 100-meter breaststroke, Lena Rose Walker in the 50-meter butterfly and the foursome of Walker, Karickhoff, Makenzie Egress and Yardley in the 200-meter freestyle relay and that same quartet winning the 200-meter medley relay.

For the oldest group, the 15-18 year olds, Cadence Vincent won a trio of events taking the 200-meter freestyle, the 50-meter freestyle and the 50-meter butterfly and Alayna Whitehair winning the 100-meter backstroke and the 100-meter breaststroke.

For the boys, Gentry Roy won three events in the U6 group taking the 25-meter backstroke, the 25-meter freestyle and the 25-meter butterfly.

In the U8 group, Camdyn Egress won three events, the 50-meter freestyle, the 100-meter IM and the 25-meter breaststroke while Gannon Stump claimed the 25-meter backstroke.

Seven wins were claimed by the 9-10 age group as Thomas Wilsoncroft won the 50-meter freestyle, the 25-meter breaststroke and the 25-meter freestyle, Kyler Baisden won the 25-meter backstroke and the 25-meter butterfly, the foursome of Warren Austin, Bryson Westfall, Felix Stump and Will Webb won the 100-meter freestyle relay and the foursome of Westfall, Wilsoncroft, Baisden and Carter Riffle won the 100-meter medley relay.

For the 11-12 age group, Jackson Richards won the 50-meter backstroke while Parker Bennett won the 50-meter freestyle.

Brody Jeran claimed three events in the 13-14 age group, taking the 200-meter freestyle, the 100-meter backstroke and the 50-meter freestyle.

In the 15-18 age group, Owen Caynor won the 100-meter backstroke and the 50-meter freestyle while Reis Leonard won the 100-meter breaststroke.

The two teams will be back in the pool next Thursday hosting the Clarksburg Country Club at 6:30 p.m.
