Buckhannon Community Theatre announces cast for ‘Alice in Wonderland’

Buckhannon Community Theatre recently announced the cast for its upcoming production of “Alice in Wonderland,” with performances scheduled for May 9-11, 2025, at the Colonial Arts Center.

Amelia Morehead will star as Alice, alongside Maddy Earnest as Cheshire Cat and Abigail Benjamin as White Rabbit. Harper Currence takes on the role of Queen of Hearts, Ava Trent will portray the Duchess and Grady Helmick is set as the King.

Other key cast members include Lily Morehead as Caterpillar/Soldier, Ava Barnhart as Caterpillar/Soldier/Flower, Jaron Currence as Mad Hatter, Spencer Mearns as March Hare and Genesis Bohman as Dormouse.

Arthur Stott and Sammy Stott have been cast as Tweedledee and Tweedledum respectively, Bailey Marple will appear as Frog Footman, Kylea Moffett as Cook, JoJo DiStefano as Humpty Dumpty, Katheen Cantrell as Mock Turtle, Aurora Whittington as Gryphon, David Carson as Knave and Shane Vassar as Executioner.

Theresa Benjamin (Courtier), Brooke Young (Lady/Flower), Alexis Huffman (Gardener/Flower) and Kaitlin Lantz (Gardener/Flower) round out the cast.

The creative team guiding this production includes co-directors Julia Sanford and Leah Propst, producer Carol Baxa-Meese and costumer Kristina Smith.

“We’re diving down the rabbit hole and into an unforgettable adventure,” Buckhannon Community Theatre wrote in their announcement. “Stay tuned for ticket info, behind-the-scenes sneak peeks and more!”

Performances are set for Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets cost $15 and will be available at the CVB, Salon 88 or online.
