Buckhannon Animal Care and Control Board Meeting Agenda: April 10, 2023

First Community Bank surged into first place in the Bob Cupp Memorial Golf League with a 26½–13½ win over former leader Custom Cabinets, taking the top spot with 74 points.

The 2026 Buccaneer Soccer Camp wrapped up in Tennerton with over 70 first- through eighth-graders taking part in four days of skills, drills, and games led by Buckhannon-Upshur boys coach Dalton Auvil.

Buckhannon-Upshur’s Lady Bucs earned major recognition on the 2026 WVSWA All-State Softball Team, with Kynnedy Marple named First Team, Braylea Squires Second Team, and Payton Brown Honorable Mention. The trio helped power a record-breaking 25-10 season.

Buckhannon Toyota is back as title sponsor of the 2026 NCWV Summer Swim League, donating $10,000 to support teams, meets, and young swimmers across the 13-team region. The league topped 600 swimmers in 2025 and will host relay and championship events in Bridgeport and Buckhannon.

Gov. Patrick Morrisey announced more than $17 million in Economic Enhancement Grants for sewer expansions and drinking water upgrades in Mason, Morgan and Wood counties.

More than 1,000 West Virginia youths — over half middle schoolers — connected with WVU this spring through Extension-led school visits, campus tours, immersion experiences and statewide events across 40+ counties.
