Bonnie Lou Stone

Bonnie Lou Stone, 89, of Thomas, W.Va., died Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Cortland Acres Nursing Home in Thomas.

She was born January 30, 1931, in Globe, Ariz., a daughter of the late John Clifton and Veda Leola Oliver Horne.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Lamar Stone and two sons, Robert Allen and Michael Edwin Bird.

She is survived by one daughter, Vickie L. Paugh and husband James of Buckhannon, W.Va.; one step-son, Charles Lamar Stone and wife Cathy of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and one brother, John Clifton Horne, Jr. of Albuquerque.

Mrs. Stone was a bookkeeper and a member of the Christian Fellowship Church in Buckhannon. She dedicated her life to her faith and church and she was ready to go home.

Mrs. Stone was an artist and musician. She lead the choir at her church, played the piano and taught classes.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff members at the Cortland Acres Nursing Home for the loving care they gave to Bonnie. They would also like to thank the Christian Fellowship Church family for their love and support during this difficult time.

Friends will be received Friday, October 9, 2020 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Kesling Mill Cemetery in Kesling Mill, W.Va.
