Betty Jo Busing, age 97, a resident of Holbrook Health Care Center, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025. She was born in Barbour County on October 30, 1927, a daughter of the late George William and Dora Bell Allen Davis. Betty was the last surviving member of their sixteen children. In addition to her parents and siblings, she is preceded by her husband Richard F. Busing.
She is survived by one son, William Edward Heathcoe and wife Betty of Buckhannon; three grandchildren, Carol Allen; Bill Heathcoe and wife Teresa; and Jody Skinner and husband Jerry; six great-grandchildren, Sean Quertinmont; Josh Heathcoe and wife Brittany; Shania Smith and husband Chris; Tyler Skinner and wife Alli; Alyssa Skinner of Buckhannon; and Eric Skinner and wife Megan of Alexandria, VA; as well as eight great-grandchildren, Leanna, Everly, and Baylor Heathcoe; Clyde, Clifford, and Cleo Smith; and Ellie and Malcomb Skinner.
Betty loved to travel, work puzzles, and play games. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Pearland Chapter 1065 Order of Eastern Star in Houston, Texas.
Friends will be received at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 4–6 PM. At her request, she will be buried at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Buckhannon Christian Academy at PO Box 844, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
