Basketball ‘Cats tumble to Battlers, 78-62

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan (1-8, 1-4) men’s basketball team fell in a MEC matchup versus Alderson Broaddus (2-6, 2-3) Wednesday night by a 78-62 score in Rockefeller Center.

WVWC Leaders
D`Vante Rivera had a team-leading 17 points. Darius Green chipped in with 13 points. Curtis Litton had 10 points and seven rebounds. Kabe Ellis pulled down seven rebounds to go along with two assists and two points.

Inside the Game
The Battlers began the game on a 17-6 run. After a triple from Tyler Slone and a jumper from Craven Jr., the Bobcats trailed 17-11. The Bobcats found another gear going on a 12-5 run to take the lead 23-22. After a three from Zach Simpkins for the Battlers and a jumper by D`Vante Revera, the score was tied 25-25. The Battlers ended the first half on an 8-4 run and led 37-29 at the break. The Bobcats cut the lead down to six on a layup by Dairus Green 37-31. That would be the closest Wesleyan could get before Alderson Broaddus eventually won, 78-62.
