B-UMS soccer teams sweep Washington Irving

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School soccer teams picked up two impressive wins against Washington Irving at home Saturday morning.

The Little Lady Bucs knocked off the Hilltoppers by a 2-0 score while the Little Bucs beat the previously unbeaten Hilltoppers by a 1-0 score.

For the Little Lady Bucs, they were tied with Washington Irving at the half at 0-0.

They scored two second half goals, getting one from Brogan Tenney and one from Isabella Nottingham for the win.

Hannah Kelley made four saves in the shutout win.

The Little Lady Bucs will host Elkins Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The win improved the Little Lady Bucs to 4-4-2 on the year.

For the Little Bucs, Dominic Figueroa’s first-half goal was the only score of the game as Landon Wright turned aways both shots he saw in net for B-UMS.

The Little Bucs are now 5-3-1 on the season.

The Little Bucs were scheduled to return to the pitch Tuesday at Notre Dame but that game had to be rescheduled. They will play Elkins at home for a 7 p.m. game.
