B-UMS soccer teams split action at Mountaineer Middle

CLARKSBURG – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School soccer teams split action with Mountaineer Middle School in Clarksburg Wednesday evening.

The Little Lady Bucs won a 4-0 decision over Mountaineer while the Little Bucs lost a 5-2 decision.

For the Little Lady Bucs, Isabella Nottingham scored a first-half goal to stake B-UMS to a 1-0 lead at the break.

Nottingham, Lilly Rice, and Brogan Tenney added second-half goals for the Little Lady Bucs.

Mountaineer Middle managed just two shots-on-goal as B-UMS keeper Hannah Kelley stopped both.

The Little Lady Bucs improved to 3-2-1 on the season.

For the Little Bucs, all the scoring was in the second half of their game with both B-UMS goals being tallied by Dominic Figueroa.

B-UMS keeper Landon Wright made five stops.

The loss dropped the Little Bucs to 3-2-1 on the year.

Both teams will be back in action Monday hosting West Fairmont Middle with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys going at 7:30 p.m.
