Ava Mae Metz-Alderman


Ava Mae Metz-Alderman, 18-day-old infant daughter of Josh Alderman and Chandra Metz of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at WVU Children’s Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

She was born September 22, 2023, in Morgantown.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Judith and Mack Metz of Tallmansville, WV; paternal grandmother, Melissa Alderman of Buckhannon; uncles, Corey Williams and fiancé Shawna of Buckhannon, T.J. Alderman and companion Mary Benson of Elkins, WV and Bryton Alderman of Buckhannon; aunt, Brianna Alderman of Buckhannon; and cousins, Aiden, Lincoln, Destiny, Alexis, Jermiah, Matthew and Clayton.

Ava Mae was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Matthew Alderman.

Friends will be received Monday, October 16, 2023, from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Monday at the funeral home with Pastor J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery in Philippi, WV.
