James Letcher Lee

James Letcher Lee, 78, of Buckhannon passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Saint Margaret’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born in French Creek on May 13, 1943, a son of the late Keith and Lorraine Wingfield Lee. In addition to his parents, James was greeted at Heaven’s Gate by his wife, Donna M. Lee; two brothers: Kenny Lee and Robert “Bob” Lee; step mother, Zita Helen Zickefoose; and step daughter, Virginia “Jeanie Moore.

Forever cherishing their memories of James are three children: James “Jimbo” L. Lee, Jr. and wife, Carmen, of Buckhannon, Terri Lorrain Lee of North Carolina, and Christopher M. Lee and wife, Jennifer, of Buckhannon; two step children: Joseph Moore and wife, Anita, and John Moore both of Buckhannon; three siblings: John Lee and Max Lee and wife, Marsha, both of Buckhannon, and Thomas Lee and wife, Mary Jane, of Statesville, NC; eleven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

James was a Christian by faith and a member of the Full Gospel Church in Buckhannon. He served his country proudly as a member of the the United States Army stationed in Germany, and a member of 7th Special Forces where the motto was, “Anything, Anytime, Anywhere”. James partnered with his brother, John, and owned H & A Coal and Hauling Company. He was the former owner of Cherokee Auto Repair and the WV Auto Center. James was a hardworking and steadfast man and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2021 in the Clutter Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chad Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Vegan with military honors provided by the Upshur County Honor Guard.
