BUCKHANNON – Police are searching for the individual or individuals responsible for a string of vandalisms that occurred over the weekend in the western part of Buckhannon.

Buckhannon Police Chief Matt Gregory said Monday the Buckhannon Police Department received 14 separate reports of vandalism, where houses and vehicles were spray-painted.

“It’s been mostly the western side of the city, Boggess and Pinnell Street and the areas in between,” Gregory said.

He said the vandalism occurred overnight Saturday and Sunday morning, when the vandalism was discovered. During the investigation, Gregory said the police received footage from a security camera showing two males.

“If anybody else, specifically in the neighborhood, has video surveillance, and they haven’t already been in contact with the police, if they could check their cameras during Saturday night and Sunday morning and if they find anything amiss on the camera during that time period, we ask them to get in contact with us,” Gregory said.

He said no one has been arrested yet in connection to the vandalism, but the potential charge would be destruction of property.
