Betty Lou Reed

Betty Lou Reed, 70, of French Creek, W.Va. and formerly of Collins, Ohio, died on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at her home. 

She was born on March 25, 1949, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Orlando “Lan” and Tressa Riffle Bennett. She was united in marriage on Aug. 19, 1966, to Charles E. Reed who survives.

In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter Janice Linn Riesterer and significant other Antonio Chavarria both of Sandusky, Ohio; six grandchildren: Curtis and wife Amanda Reed, Kyle and wife Victoria Reed, Cody and wife Nicole Reed, Katarina Reed, Ayden Riesterer and Tierra Riesterer; eight great grandchildren; five brothers: Jack and wife Mary Bennett, Bob and wife Norma Bennett, Tom and wife Deniece Bennett, Floyd and wife Della Bennett all of Ohio and Butch and wife Jill Goodwin of Arizona; and two sisters:  Eileen and husband Bob Hardman of Buckhannon and Lanna Bennett of Pa. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews also survive. 

She was preceded in death by one son, Nick Wayne Reed.

Mrs. Reed loved to sew, garden, play volley ball, cook and spend time with her family. 

The family will receive friends at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 10, 2019, from 4-7 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel, with Pastor Ed McDaniels officiating.  Interment will follow in the Big Bend Cemetery.
