MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Peak Health is expanding its commitment to serving West Virginians by offering individual and family health insurance plans through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace beginning Jan. 1.

The expansion marks an important next step in Peak Health’s continued evolution and its mission to provide better healthcare and coverage options to the communities it serves.

As a health plan owned by three nonprofit health systems – WVU Medicine, Marshall Health Network and Valley Health – Peak Health brings a unique perspective to health insurance. Its provider owners share a longstanding, service-driven commitment to caring for the people of West Virginia and making meaningful improvements in healthcare delivery throughout the state.

“Expanding into the individual and family market is an exciting milestone for Peak Health and an opportunity to serve even more West Virginians,” Ben Gerber, CEO of Peak Health, said. “As a health system-owned health plan, we believe we can translate some of the efficiencies of our model into competitive, lower-cost options for members, while continuing to deliver the quality, service, and local connection that are at the heart of Peak Health.”

Additional information about Peak Health’s 2027 plans, including plan options, coverage areas, rates and enrollment, will be available as the 2027 open enrollment period approaches.
