ELKINS, W.Va. (October 12, 2026) – Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center will host a free Menopause Awareness Event from 4–5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, in the hospital’s cafeteria overflow area. The event will provide practical information to help women understand the physical and emotional changes associated with perimenopause and menopause and learn about available care and resources.
Speakers Sarah Weaver, FNP-C, and Kate Jones, PT, LAT, ATC, will discuss perimenopause and menopause, pelvic and sexual health and bowel and bladder concerns. Attendees will also learn about treatment options and when to talk with a healthcare provider about symptoms.
“Menopause is a natural stage of life, but women don’t have to navigate the changes and symptoms alone,” said Julie Fleming, PT, event organizer. “Our goal is to provide women with reliable information, create an opportunity to ask questions and help them understand the resources and care available to support their health and quality of life.”
Weaver is a certified nurse practitioner in the women’s health program at Vandalia Health Mon Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. She is certified through the Heather Hirsch Academy in the treatment of women experiencing perimenopause and menopause.
Jones specializes in pelvic floor physical therapy and has been a physical therapist at Mon Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital since 2001. She earned degrees in exercise physiology, athletic training and physical therapy from West Virginia University.
The event is open to the public, and women of all ages are encouraged to attend, including those experiencing perimenopause, menopause or symptoms that may be related to hormonal changes.
