BUCKHANNON – The City of Buckhannon has announced its operating schedule for Monday, October 12, 2026, in observance of Columbus Day.
In a press release issued Sunday afternoon, the city said all municipal offices, including the Buckhannon Transfer Station, will be closed for the holiday. While administrative and public-facing offices will not be open, essential public services will continue uninterrupted.
Waste collection (garbage pickup) will operate on its normal schedule. Residents should place their containers curbside at their usual times.
The city encourages everyone to enjoy a safe and pleasant Columbus Day. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
