Vandalia Health Mobile Mammography Unit to offer walk-in screenings in Buckhannon on Oct. 13

Screening mammograms are one of the best tools for detecting breast cancer in its earliest stages.

The Vandalia Health Mobile Mammography Unit will offer convenient, walk-in mammogram screenings to the public at several sites across West Virginia during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The unit will be parked at Vandalia Health – Buckhannon Medical Care, 11 N. Locust St., Tuesday, Oct. 13, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Vandalia Health’s Mobile Mammography Unit provides a fast, easy and confidential way for individuals to receive a screening, which is an important step in early breast cancer detection. This community-focused event is open to the public. No appointment is necessary.

You may be eligible for a mammogram if you are a woman aged 40 and older, have not had a mammogram in the last 365 days, are not pregnant or breastfeeding and are not experiencing breast issues such as lumps, discharge or pain.

The Vandalia Health Medicine in Motion mobile medical fleet is staffed by experts and equipped with the same state-of-the-art digital imaging technology as you would get at a Vandalia Health imaging facility for quick, convenient and accurate screenings.
