BUCKHANNON — My Buckhannon is proud to present another season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars, recognizing Buckhannon-Upshur athletes who delivered standout performances across football, soccer, cross country, volleyball and golf.
Each week, one male and one female athlete earn the honor based on their impact, consistency and contributions to their teams.
For the week of Sept. 28–Oct. 4, the Hank Ellis All-Stars are Gwen Rogosky and Jacob Frye.
Rogosky, a junior on the Buckhannon-Upshur girls cross-country team, delivered one of her strongest outings of the season at Saturday’s Stonewall Invitational. She broke the 20-minute barrier for the first time this fall, placing fifth in 19:39 as the Lady Bucs’ top finisher in a field of 70. Her performance helped guide B-U to a third-place team finish.
Frye, a senior wide receiver on the Buccaneer football team, turned in a career night against Fairmont Senior. He hauled in six receptions for 193 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing both speed and elusiveness. His first score came on a 61-yard catch-and-run in which he outraced the Polar Bear defense, and his second was a 40-yard sprint to the end zone after weaving past multiple defenders.
Congratulations to Rogosky and Frye, this week’s Hank Ellis All-Stars.
