Diane E. Snyder Hoover, age 82, of Crescent Avenue, Buckhannon, died Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at her home. She was born on May 30, 1944, in Adrian, WV, a daughter of the late Melvin James and Catherine Marie Douglas Snyder. On April 9, 1966, she was united in marriage to Raymond “Junior” Hoover, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, James Lee, and wife Shanda R. Mills Hoover of Buckhannon; two grandchildren, Nathaniel H. Hoover and girlfriend Madison Burnside, and Catherine Marie “Catie” Hoover and boyfriend Preston S. Lantz; one sister, Linda J. Snyder of Buckhannon; and one brother, Gerald N. Snyder, and son Jamie and family of Buckhannon. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter Leslie Ann Hoover and sister-in-law Linda Kay Snyder.
Diane was a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School with the Class of 1962 and was an employee of Moore Business Forms for many years before resigning to care for her beloved daughter Leslie. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her special friends Jane and Dick DeMastes, and she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and her dogs.
The family will receive friends at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2026. The funeral will be held at the funeral chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Interment will follow in the Big Bend Cemetery.
