Barbara “Barb” Ann (Beverage) Dilley

Barbara “Barb” Ann (Beverage) Dilley, born November 15, 1958, and raised on her family farm, Sunrise Farm, in Clover Lick, WV, passed away on January 28, 2025, in Buckhannon, WV. Barb passed surrounded by family and under the care of WVU Hospice after a short battle with an aggressive form of metastatic melanoma cancer.

Barb is survived by her husband, Jim, of 44 years, her daughters Rebecca and Abby, her sons-in-law Chad Marsh and Levi Bender, and her beloved grandchildren Makenna, Bael and Kai, all of Buckhannon, WV. She is also survived by her parents, Richard and Jane Beverage, her brother Danny, sister-in-law Cheryl, and nieces and nephew Kelsey, Cole (Whitney, Charlie and Harper) and Katelynn Beverage of Clover Lick, WV.

Barb was a homemaker who spent her time caring for her family and working on the family farm with her father. She spent the last several years babysitting and helping to raise her grandchildren. She loved to sew, read, play cards (Clean Hands, Dirty Feet) and cross stitch. She loved going to the beach to sit in the sand, read and walk in the water. She enjoyed making maple syrup on her family farm every winter and making hay in the summer.

Barb was active in her daughters’ activities and frequently chaperoned school and club trips, made baked goods for fundraisers and volunteered her time at school and 4-H functions. She supported her grandchildren by attending their sporting events and school functions. She enjoyed traveling with her husband on trips to see friends, their day trip car rides, and vacations with her grandchildren.

Per her request, Barb will be cremated without funeral services. A celebration of life will be held on February 16, 2025, from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Pocahontas Community Wellness Center in Marlinton, WV.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to Pocahontas County 4-H. Barb became involved in 4-H through her daughters. She helped with meetings and activities, chaperoned at State Dance Camp, and helped with meals at county camp as part of the Big Foot Tribe. Donations (in check form) should be made out to and mailed to:

Pocahontas 4-H Leaders Association
