BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — A free weight-loss information session focusing on weight-loss surgery will be held at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. in Salvati Hall.

The session will be presented by the WVU Medicine Bariatrics team who provides a comprehensive surgical weight-loss program. Candidates for weight-loss surgery should be 100 pounds overweight and committed to a healthy lifestyle. Attendance at an information session is a mandatory first step for program participants.

Helen Ruth Ours Malcomb, 82, of Buckhannon, died at her home on August 1, 2026. She retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital after 30 years of service and was a former member of Reger Chapel United Methodist Church.
