TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc soccer team made quick work of Lewis County Tuesday evening with a convincing 8-0 victory.
The Lady Bucs raced out to a 6-0 lead at the break and never looked back as Lewis County wasn’t able to muster a shot-on-goal.
Harley Dean got the Lady Bucs on the board when she played a rebound off of the Lewis County keeper in the 11th minute. Mallory Hughes scored just a minute later with a deflection off the keeper to give B-U a 2-0 lead.
Grace Queen gave the Lady Bucs a 3-0 lead in the 18th minute then Ava Hollen scored two straight goals in a nine-minute span to up the lead to 5-0. Chloe Cale snuck in a goal right before the half ended to make it a 6-0 advantage at the intermission.
Cale opened the second half with a goal to make it 7-0 and Sidney Hollen wrapped up the scoring in the 49th minute.
B-U held an 18-0 advantage in shots-on-goal and a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The action left the Lady Bucs with a 1-1-1 record heading into Saturday’s home game with Greenbrier East.
The game will start at noon.
