James “Jimmy” Hawkinberry

James “Jimmy” Hawkinberry, age 71, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.

He was born April 19, 1951, in Fairmont, WV, a son of the late Joseph G. and Stella Marie Meale Hawkinberry.

On February 9, 1974, he married Louise Winstel Hawkinberry, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Eric  Hawkinberry and wife Julie of Morgantown, WV and Evan Hawkinberry and companion, Melissa Phillips of Buckhannon; two daughters, Carrie Hawkinberry Barton and husband Jason of Greeley, CO and Amy Hawkinberry Travise and husband Andrew of Coalton, WV; grandchildren, Samuel and Riley Hawkinberry of Morgantown, Eli Hawkinberry of Buckhannon, Alivia and Jonas Barton of Greeley, and Avi, Ayden, and Anden Travise of Coalton, sister-in-law, Susan Terhorst of Chicago, IL; nieces and nephew, Bill Terhorst, Jennifer Dotson and Kimberly Williams all of Chicago; sister-in-law, Diane Hawkinberry of Weirton, WV; nephew, Brent Hawkinberry and niece Erin Hawkinberry, both of Weirton; multiple cousins; aunt, Joan Smith of Clarksburg, WV, uncle, Eugene Meale of Manassas, VA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Hawkinberry.

Jimmy was a Retail Manager for Murphy’s Mart, Ames Department Store, and Family Dollar. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Jimmy loved Football and was an avid Steelers fan. He loved going to the beach and sitting on the balcony watching the ocean. Above all, he was devoted to his wife and family, and loved spending all his time with them.

Friends will be received Monday, April 25, 2022, from 9 AM to 11 AM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Buckhannon. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM at the church, with Father Ed Tetteh officiating.
